BIOGRAPHY

Hannah Shipley is a North Carolina based painter who works primarily with acrylics as well as a range of media. She was introduced to painting at a young age, with a focus on value and the human figure. Since then, Shipley’s style has evolved to abstractly depict the figure with attention to values and colors. Currently, her work is moving towards a looser, abstract technique to represent themes of empathy through body language and actions. Over the years, Shipley has completed commissioned work, and has been exhibited locally, regionally, and nationally. She has earned a BFA from Appalachian State University, and is currently continuing her education as an MFA candidate at the University of Florida.
